Depending on whether or not you include Social Security and Medicare, our effective tax rate for 2018 was 16.9% (not including SS/MC) or 26.6% (including SS/MC). That’s (taxes paid)/(taxable income)
Last year, exclusive of SS/MC, our effective tax rate was 19%.
